Positive injury news for FSU offensive weapon

The injury isn’t as bad as once suspected.

NCAA Football: Florida State at Boston College Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

On just the second kick-return of the game for the Seminoles’ rising redshirt freshman Khalan Laborn he took a nasty hit to the knee that saw him carted off the field in an air cast, which is never a good sign. Laborn would be sidelined for the remainder of the game and the loss of the shifty back left the Seminoles rushing attack struggling.

The outlook was grim Saturday night, but in his weekly press conference, head coach Willie Taggart provided some news that gave fans a glimmer of hope that we could see Laborn back in the Florida State offense at some point this season.

“He’ll be back, Khalan, He’ll be back,” Taggart said. “He had a knee injury there where he dislocated his kneecap. It wasn’t necessarily as bad as we thought it was when we were out there. It will be some weeks before he can get going again.”

There will be no rush to get Laborn back on the field at the risk of re-injury, but he will certainly be missed during his recovery.
