Football:

The latest episode of The Nolecast breaks down the myriad of things that went wrong for Florida State on Monday night.

However, it wasn’t all bad for the ’Noles against Virginia Tech, as the defense put up a valiant effort. Here’s what we observed from FSU’s entire defensive performance against the Hokies.

The advanced box score show that Monday’s game was largely decided by two factors: turnover luck and field position.

Florida State center Alec Eberle insists that the team will “stay together” following the defeat. His whole interview can be found here.

Defensive end Brian Burns called the game on Monday night an “embarrassment.” Watch the complete interview with Burns here.

The uniform combination for Florida State’s next game against Samford has been announced.

As expected, the ’Noles took a hit in the latest AP Poll.

ESPN.com got the chance to speak with legendary FSU head coach Bobby Bowden, who served as an honorary captain for the VT game.

One notable quote from the article:

“He’s done everything you need to do to get a program going,” Bowden said of Taggart. “That doesn’t mean you’re going to win right off, but I’m convinced the more I see him, he’s going to win.”

SI.com’s Andy Staples posits that Willie Taggart finds himself at a crossroads after his first game as head coach of the Seminoles.

Recruiting:

Top-rated 2019 recruit Kayvon Thibodeaux, who was in Tallahassee last weekend on his 1st official visit, gives his take on some of the more questionable aspects of Bud Foster’s defensive game plan.

Alumni:

The Seattle Seahawks have named former ’Nole Sebastian Janikowski as a captain for the 2018 season.

Cam Erving has been given a contract extension by the Kansas City Chiefs.
