Week one is in the books, and for fans of Florida State football, thankfully fading farther and farther into the rearview mirror after a humiliating home loss to Virginia Tech. But let’s look ahead— way ahead.
Before the Seminoles had taken a snap, Kyle Bonagura and Mitch Sherman made their predictions as to FSU’s postseason destination. Bonagura had the ’Noles headed for El Paso and a Sun Bowl matchup with Utah, but he’s since altered his projection, and, frankly, despite Florida State opening at 0-1, against a higher profile opponent. He now thinks that the Seminoles will face off against the LSU Tigers in Nashville’s Music City Bowl on December 28 at 1:30 pm.
Sherman, on the other hand, changed his prediction for FSU from the Belk Bowl in Charlotte to the Sun Bowl. However, instead of facing the Utes, he sees Florida State drawing a different Pac-12 opponent: head coach Willie Taggart’s former employer, the Oregon Ducks, certainly a more intriguing storyline than facing Utah. That game will be played on December 31 at 2 pm.
