Football:
California’s governor signed the Fair Pay to Play act on Monday which allows college athletes to make money off of their likeness and a Florida representative has now followed suit. I won’t pretend to be an expert on the subject, but it is a hot topic that is only gaining steam. At this point it seems that college athletes will be paid on the books sooner rather than later.
Florida State hasn’t done enough to crack into the FanPulse voting, but your week 5 top 25 votes have been counted and the results are in. We also had you vote on which school would fire their coach first. We learned soon after that it would be Rutgers, but who else got votes?
It seems winning translates to fan confidence, and Florida State’s fan confidence is at the highest it has been this year.
Wins also translate to better bowl projections and more of the national media are getting behind the ’Noles to make the postseason.
Recruiting:
Three-star athlete Jaheim Bell was unfortunate to go down with a season-ending injury, but the Florida State staff was quick to reach out to check on him and let him know he still has a spot as ’Nole should he decide to come here:

Flu shots aren’t a sport, but if you’re on FSU’s campus don’t pass up the opportunity to beat UF:
TOMORROW: Oct. 2, @floridastate is competing with @UF, @UCF and @USouthFlorida in “4 'U’s Fight the Flu,” to see which university can get the most students to take their flu shot in a single day! #FSU, let's do this...https://t.co/nvpYvFmA5u

Alumni/Jameis Winston spotlight:
Jameis Winston has had a solid three weeks after a poor week one and his new head coach has taken notice:
Bucs coach Bruce Arians said of Jameis Winston, “I don’t know if anybody’s played better the last three weeks than he has, and the numbers should bear it.” And they DO. A closer look https://t.co/D5FXaetUWg

Cool under pressure, Winston has a perfect passer rating against the blitz this year, throwing 6 touchdowns:

His performance against the Rams has Winston nominated for the Fed Ex Air player of the week. You can vote for him here:
