Florida State head coach Willie Taggart spoke with the media following the Seminoles, 22-20 loss to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Taggart opened the press conference by stating, “This one hurts, the team did some things well, but turnovers and penalties did them in. He further touched on a variety of topics including player injuries, QB play, Ricky Aguayo, and more.

In regards to the timeout before Aguayo’s missed field goal, Taggart said that they were thinking about going for it, but that Aguayo was “one hundred percent” in practice all week and that he knew he had the leg to make a 50-yarder.

On Blackman, Taggart said that he thought “ he did some good things, but at the end he had the unfortunate fumble, but overall throughout the game he played well.

Taggart is hopeful that Florida State will find its way back into the win column when the Seminoles play Syracuse next week in Doak Campbell stadium for homecoming. He said, “anytime we lose it’s a setback and we need to find a way to get back in the win column.”
