After spanking Syracuse, Florida State isn’t excluded from any postseason projections I check for this piece. And the level of bowl to which the Seminoles are headed is typically pretty solid.
There are a couple Sun Bowl forecasts, as ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and CBS Sports each have the ’Noles destined for El Paso to face a Pac-12 team. The former thinks FSU will matchup with the Stanford Cardinal, the latter has the Seminoles playing USC.
The Sporting News has Florida State meeting an SEC opponent, Kentucky, in Charlotte’s Belk Bowl, while our own Banner Society thinks the Gator Bowl could be in FSU’s future. But due to SEC teams being pulled elsewhere for postseason play, Banner Society has the ’Noles drawing Toledo in that game.
And then there are the others. If the aforementioned bowls could be considered treats, meet the trick: Shreveport. 247 Sports, ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura, and College Football News all have Florida State returning to the Independence Bowl, against Buffalo, FAU, and Southern Miss (again), respectively.
