FSU football fan rooting guide, TV listings, bye-week hangout: Week 6

Saturdays suck without Florida State Football, but at least there’s football on.

Florida State has a bye week this week, so sadly (but a nice break for my stress levels) the Seminoles will not be featured on television today. There are still plenty of games for us to watch together this Saturday, so feel free to drop in the comments and let us know your favorite matchups and upsets as the day goes on.

Also this might be one of my favorite sport’s related tweets of all time:

ACC

Boston College at Louisville 12:30pm RSN

Let’s face it, the Cardinals are not a great football team and Florida State already beat Louisville this year so it’s important for the Eagles to pick-up this victory as Florida State heads to Boston in early November.

Virginia Tech at Miami (FL) 3:30pm ESPN

Same as above: as much as it pains me to say this, Florida State doesn’t play Virginia Tech this year, but will play the Hurricanes later on in Tallahassee. I wouldn’t say root for Miami, but let’s hope they can get this one done.

North Carolina at Georgia Tech 4:00pm ACCN

I’m still pretty bitter about QB Sam Howell, so a Tarheel loss at rebuilding Georgia Tech might make me feel a bit better and bring UNC back down to earth after “almost” beating Clemson.

Big 12

6 Oklahoma at Kansas 12:00pm ABC

I personally don’t want to see Jalen Hurts lose, but a road loss to the Jayhawks would certainly shake some things up.

21 Oklahoma State at Texas Tech 12:00pm FS1

11 Texas at West Virginia 3:30pm ABC

Same thing as above: Root for chaos and upsets galore.

Big Ten

14 Iowa at 19 Michigan 12:00pm FOX

Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines are still trying to move past its early struggles this season. After surviving Army in overtime and getting embarrassed by Wisconsin, Michigan routed Rutgers. (I know it’s not very impressive, but still.) A victory over the Hawkeyes could be the momentum Michigan needs heading into its second half of the season.

Kent State at 8 Wisconsin 12:00pm ESPNU

I honestly just want to have a reason to say Go Golden Flashes! Root for the upset, but don’t get too invested.

Purdue at 12 Penn State 12:00pm ESPN

The Boilermakers are riddled with injuries this year and are certainly not the same team that upset Ohio State last year, but once again root for the upset, but don’t get your hopes up.

25 Michigan State at 4 Ohio State 7:30pm ABC

Ohio State has won three straight and if Michigan State’s pass defense can stop Justin Fields and the Buckeyes, now is the time. Sparty on!

Pac-12

California at 13 Oregon 8:00pm FOX

The Golden Bears dropped from the rankings after losing to Arizona State last week. If circumstances were different, this game likely would have been a top-15 matchup, but a new quarterback at the helm will likely prove to be difficult for California to move forward. That being said, let’s see if California can get it done in Autzen Stadium and shake things up in the Pac-12.

SEC

Utah State at 5 LSU 12:00pm SECN

The Tigers have finally found a quarterback in Ohio State Transfer Joe Burrow, but Utah State isn’t going to hand over the win easily. I probably won’t ever say this again, but root for the Aggies to pull of the upset.

7 Auburn at 10 Florida 3:30pm CBS

This is the matchup I am most excited about (along with everyone else in the CFB world), but I really hope it doesn’t disappoint. While we can all agree we would rather both teams lose, let’s hope the Tigers take down the Gators in the Swamp.

3 Georgia at Tennessee 7:00pm ESPN

The Bulldogs are favored by more than 25 points in Rocky Top, and at this point I’m just glad I’m not a Vols’ fan, but if Tennessee can somehow manage to pull-off what I would consider the upset of the weekend/year I’d totally be here for it.

Other Notable Match-ups

TCU at Iowa State 12:00pm ESPN2

Maryland at Rutgers 12:00pm BTN

Northwestern at Nebraska 4:00pm FOX

Troy at Missouri 4:00pm SECN

Arizona at Colorado 4:30pm Pac-12N

Vanderbilt at Ole Miss 7:30pm SECN

Tulsa at 24 SMU 7:30pm ESPNU
