Florida State as a massive underdog heading to Death Valley to face No. 2 Clemson is no surprise. We knew this spread would easily make double-digits and likely surpass 20 points, but we still had to wait to see just how Vegas wanted to treat this one with each team coming off a bye and the Tigers having narrowly escaped Chapel Hill with a win.
CU opens as 27.5-point favorites over FSU, with an initial over/under of 64.5. So the expected score is something like 46-18. The line very quickly dropped a half point, to 27, and the O/U dipped to 63.5
The Seminoles haven’t been too great winning outright as underdogs in the Willie Taggart era (then again, you’re not supposed to— that’s why you’re not favored). The only time the ’Noles emerged victorious is when they hosted Boston College last year as one-point underdogs and won 22-21. That’s also FSU’s lone win against a ranked team under Taggart.
So what do you think? As always, we’ll use the opening line here, since it typically fluctuates.
