FSU football confidence drops slightly, hoops confidence remains high, with Top 25, CFP picks

New data for a gridiron season winding down and a hardwood campaign just getting started.

As fans and voters, you’ve shown much more dramatic swings during this football season, so an 11-point dip in confidence isn’t really a huge deal. It could be tied to FSU’s 49-12 win over Alabama State, which took a little longer to become a blowout than some would have preferred, or perhaps it’s the decreased likelihood that Bob Stoops takes over as the Seminoles’ next head coach.

Week 1: 43%

Week 2: 8%

Week 3: 32%

Week 4: 63%

Week 5: 83%

Week 6: 79%

Week 7: 68%

Week 8: 13%

Week 9: 54%

Week 10: 10%

Week 11: 74%

Week 12: 63%

The most recent Tomahawk Nation Top 25 looks like this, with records and last week’s ranks in parentheses:

  1. LSU (10-0) (1)
  2. Ohio State (10-0) (2)
  3. Clemson (11-0) (3)
  4. Georgia (9-1) (5)
  5. Oklahoma (9-1) (7)

  21. Boise State (9-1) (21)
  22. Iowa (7-3) (NR)
  23. Air Force (8-2) (NR)
  24. Virginia Tech (7-3) (22)
  25. Oklahoma State (7-3) (NR)

And here’s the national poll:

And last week’s national Top 25:

Most think the three remaining undefeated FBS teams — LSU, Ohio State, and Clemson — will be in the College Football Playoff, but there’s been a good deal of conversation about which team will be the fourth into the CFP. So that was the focus of this week’s national question: which team is most likely to make the CFP?

Georgia edged Oregon by a razor-thin margin:

  1. Georgia: 30.4%
  2. Oregon: 29.7%
  3. Oklahoma: 17.5%
  4. Alabama: 15.5%
  5. Utah: 6.9%

On to basketball, where y’all couldn’t be more consistent. For the third straight week, 99.1% of you are confident in the direction of the FSU hoops program, which kinda prompts the question: who’s honestly not confident, and why? Those are the explanations I’d love to see in the comments section. Oh yeah, the Gators are down to 61%.
