Updates from FSU’s weekly Monday press conference: BC week

AD David Coburn and interim HC Odell Haggins speak with the media

Florida State Director of Athletics David Coburn and interim head coach Odell Haggins will host the Seminoles’ weekly press conference after it was announced that Willie Taggart’s contract has been terminated effective immediately on Sunday afternoon.

Odell Haggins, who is in his 26th season on FSU’s coaching staff, has been asked to serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Haggins served in the same capacity for the Florida State Seminoles’ final two games of the 2017 season following the departure of Jimbo Fisher.

Former, current, and future FSU football players have been expressing their thoughts on the decision via social media and the reactions are mixed.

The Seminoles must prepare to head to the chilly northeast to face the Boston College Eagles this weekend in a must-win situation to keep its bowl hopes alive. Florida State needs two more wins and with three games left (Boston College, Alabama State, and Florida), a victory over the Eagles could salvage the season.
