Florida State football head coach Mike Norvell has retained Ron Dugans as FSU’s Wide Receivers Coach. Dugans was originally hired after the 2018 season by former head coach Willie Taggart.

Dugans joins the stalwart defensive line coach Odell Haggins as the second FSU alumnus on staff as an assistant football coach. Haggins will enter his fourth different decade as an assistant in the 2020 season after being retained by Norvell earlier this week.
Dugans, an alumnus of the 1999 National Championship team, was a very good college receiver, although his time at FSU was overshadowed by an all time great in Peter Warrick. Since then, his coaching career has taken him to such varied stops as USF under Taggart, Miami under Mark Richt, and Louisville under Charlie Strong.
Coach Dugans’ unit showed promise in 2019, with receiver blocking improving tremendously over the 2018 unit’s campaign. A strong recruiter in Tampa, the Tallahassee native will stay home at his alma mater.
