The Seminoles are a pretty well-traveled team in the realm of postseason projections. They’ve been up east, down in Tampa, and now headed west.
Joe Lunardi’s latest ESPN bracketology update still features Florida State as a 4-seed, but a week after keeping the ’Noles in the Sunshine State, he now has them opening play in the South’s Sacramento venue. He sees FSU facing 13-seed Louisiana Tech in the first round.
After that, the Seminoles would face the winner of 5-seed Arizona and a play-in game between 12s BYU and Iowa, with the winner headed to Houston.
Bracket Matrix has also updated their aggregate projections, and all 27 have the ’Noles dancing, with a high of a 2-seed and a low of a 7-seed. But they average out as the tourney’s second 4-seed. Here’s some perspective of how far FSU has come as a program: the other 4s are Michigan State, Arizona, and Kentucky.
Team Rankings has FSU as the last 4-seed, with a 95% chance to make the tourney.
