McCluster chooses FSU over the likes of Miami and Auburn.

Largo High School linebacker Jayion McCluster has finally made it official and signed with the Seminoles this afternoon.

His commitment comes as no surprise to FSU fans who follow recruiting as the inside linebacker has long been committed to the ’Noles. While he has long been a lock to FSU, he held offers from Florida, Miami, and Auburn among many others.

McCluster did reopen his recruitment briefly as FSU was still searching for a new head coach, however he quickly shut it back down after meeting Mike Norvell:

At 6’ 1” McCluster is the 16th ranked ILB in the class. He is a high-motor player that shows quickness and an ability to take smart angles to the football on top of being an excellent tackler in space.

He led a talented Largo High School team in tackles with 159—good enough for the most tackles in a single season in the school’s history. McCluster’s addition greatly bolsters a huge position of need for the Seminoles, especially considering his plans to enroll early.
