More good news in Tallahassee today.

After introducing new head coach Mike Norvell to the masses, the Florida State Seminoles got their bowl destination: the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas on December 31.

(Yes, that’s actually the sponsor of the bowl.)

It what amounts to Odell Haggins swan song as interim head coach, the Seminoles will be facing off against Arizona State.

The two schools have met just four times, the last coming in 1984, an FSU win. All-time, FSU leads the series 3-1, though the one Arizona State win came in the only bowl matchup between the two schools, a seven-point win in the 1971 Fiesta Bowl.

The Sun Devils have had an up-and-down season, upsetting Oregon late in the season to essentially kick the Ducks out of the playoffs, but losing to UCLA and barely scraping by Michigan State.
