Florida State football, recruiting news: Young guys are stepping up this Spring

Former scout team players are contributing in a bigger fashion this offseason, and everybody is practicing with more tempo.

Football:

Head coach Willie Taggart is asking more from his players this offseason. That includes everyone from the veterans to 2018 scout team players like QB Nolan McDonald and WR Warren Thompson.

The adjustment period to the up-tempo offense desired by Taggart and new OC Kendal Briles has been much less severe than it was last year at this time.

FSU had a hard time generating much from the running game on early downs in 2018, which is a problem that the team will try to fix in the upcoming season.

The ACC Network decided to launch a promotional video before its debut in August of this year.

You’d think it would be a good idea to put a decent amount of focus on one of the conference’s most prominent programs (that also has a plethora of rich traditions) like Florida State....right?

Seminole Boosters has started a new campaign that is aimed directly at Leon County residents.

A massive cheating scandal is rocking the world of college sports alleging that applicants posed as athletes to gain admission to certain universities. So far, a number of schools have been named in the case, including Florida State’s ACC Atlantic foe Wake Forest.

Recruiting:

4-star defensive tackle Eric Taylor and his family enjoyed their visit to Tallahassee this past weekend. Taylor plays for Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, AL.

2020 blue-chip offensive tackle, and current South Carolina commit, Issiah Walker plans to visit FSU this weekend. Walker plays for Norland High School in Miami, FL.

2020 recruit Josh Brown will also be in Tallahassee. Brown plays defensive back for Lowndes High School in Valdosta, GA.
