FSU defensive end Xavier Peters suspended for violation of team rules

There is no known timeline for his return

As first reported by Noles247, defensive end Xavier Peters is currently suspended for a violation of the team rules. Peters has not practiced with the team since the Seminoles returned from spring break, but he is still with the team. While there is no set timeline for when Peters will return, he is still listed on the 2019-2020 roster.

When Peters arrived on campus in August, rumors concerning his academic eligibility swirled until he was finally deemed eligible before the start of the 2018 season. The Ohio native appeared in two games last season making his collegiate debut in the Seminoles’ victory over the Demon Decons. He recorded one solo tackle and one pass breakup. He played briefly in the game against Clemson as well, ultimately redshirting for the 2018 season.

In December, 2018, Peters tested the NCAA transfer portal waters, but eventually took to twitter to reaffirm his commitment to Florida State.

Coming into Florida State, the Under Armour All-American was a consensus four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect out of the Buckeye State and the No. 15 outside linebacker in the country by 247 Sports. In his senior year, he compiled 78 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles and recovered one fumble.
