It was a good day for Florida State on the recruiting trail Thursday, as the ’Noles added a pair of prospects to bolster their offensive front. First, FSU gained a pledge from 2020 Pennsylvania lineman Alex Atcavage, a day after offering him. And now the Seminoles have also secured a verbal commitment from tight end Carter Boatwright.
Also a 2020 prospect, Boatwright (6’5, 225) is from talent-rich Moultrie, Georgia’s Colquitt County High School. An under-the-radar commit, Boatwright has not yet been ranked. His only other power-five offer is from Pitt, and his offer sheet also includes UCF, Southern Miss, Navy, Central Michigan, South Alabama, Marshall, FIU, Appalachian State, and others.
Boatwright is the only tight end committed to the ’Noles in any coming class. Florida State’s 2020 recruiting class is ranked 16th in the nation and third in the ACC. Boatwright is the 14th member of this class for the Seminoles.
