We’re not about to spend the time to check every single bowl projection published, because, ya know, we have other stuff to write. But among the sites we checked last week, only Brett McMurphy of Stadium had Florida State missing out on postseason play after the 2019 football season. Following week two, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach has joined McMurphy in excluding the Seminoles from his bowl forecasts.
But the 1-1 ’Noles still appear in most projections we surveyed. There are a couple of common destinations here, as well as a common opponent in two different venues.
- College Football News: Birmingham Bowl (Birmingham, AL) vs. Cincinnati
- ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura: Indepedence Bowl (Shreveport, LA) vs. Florida Atlantic
- Banner Society: Independence Bowl vs. Cal
- Sporting News: Pinstripe Bowl (New York, NY) vs. Maryland
- 247 Sports: Music City Bowl (Nashville, TN) vs. Maryland
Because bowls don’t always take the teams with the best records, there’s some disparity as far as teams’ records heading into each game. But every team to participate in the games above entered with 6-8 wins.
