Some common themes have emerged this week regarding Florida State football and bowl projections. First, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy, of Stadium, continue to see the Seminoles missing the postseason altogether. Second, those who do have FSU bowling foresee some of the same opponents for Florida State.

Despite having met just eight times, the ’Noles have a rich past with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and a trio of prognostications have the storied programs adding a ninth chapter to their history. 247 Sports and The Sporting News each think that happens in New York City’s Pinstripe Bowl, while ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura thinks the Seminoles and Cornhuskers will meet in Detroit’s Quick Lane Bowl.

The Temple Owls are another popular pick for FSU’s December foe. College Football News think the two will tangle in the Birmingham Bowl, while our own Banner Society forecasts this matchup to occur in the Military Bowl, in Annapolis, Maryland.
