FSU bowl projections after week 1 & the national writer who doesn’t see the ’Noles bowling

Remember, remember, the end of December.

2019 Florida State football is all about a return. Maybe not to national prominence, but certainly to respectability, relevance, and a postseason appearance. And with week one behind us, most — not all — offering bowl projections think that’ll happen. Here’s a rundown of where some national outlets see the Seminoles bowling come winter, along with their predicted opponents.

  • College Football News: Military Bowl (Annapolis, MD) vs. Navy
  • ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura: Military Bowl vs. Tulane
  • ESPN’s Mark Schlabach: Sun Bowl (El Paso, TX) vs. Arizona State
  • 247 Sports: Pinstripe Bowl (New York, NY) vs. Minnesota
  • SI.com: Quick Lane Bowl (Detroit, MI) vs. Purdue
  • Banner Society: Camping World Bowl (Orlando, FL) vs. Iowa State
  • Brett McMurphy, writing for Stadium, thinks the ’Noles will miss a bowl for the second straight year.

The best case scenario offered this week is from our very own Banner Society. Last year, the Camping World Bowl featured a pair of teams that came in with top-20 AP rankings and eight wins each: Syracuse and West Virginia. An 8-3 finish to the 2019 regular season would be a definite take for FSU at this point.
