Recruiting:

After bringing Chubba Purday and Tate Rodemaker into the fold on short notice, Norvell and company just secured a commitment from 2021 quarterback Luke Altmyer. With Chad Mascoe committed for the 2022 class, the future of FSU’s quarterbook room currently looks pretty bright.

Altmyer didn’t waste any time getting into the spirit:

But now that Norvell and Dillingham have secured the services of three quarterbacks — that counts as starting a collection to me — does that tell us anything about what they look for in a QB?

FSU had one last recruiting weekend before Norvell’s first National Signing Day in the Garnet and Gold:

Also, this staff has been really busy putting out offers:

2021 defensive back Terrion Arnold spent the weekend watching the Super Bowl with the staff.

Whew — I think I have carpal tunnel now.

6’5 255lb commit Markeston Douglas also threw down a monster dunk:

From The Athletic: Revisiting the 2016 recruiting class — FSU’s third-ranked class ends up unranked.

Football:

For fun, watch recently enrolled WR Ja’Khi Douglas go 99 yards, reaching 22 mph. I think he would have scored before I reached the 50.

In a little bit of ACC scouting, it looks like Syracuse is getting Jon Bon Jovi’s son, while Miami has more changes to their staff:

Meanwhile, Clemson QB Chase Brice transfers to Duke.

Other Sports:

FSU dropped a game to the defending national champions and then rebounded against Virginia Tech before they dipped a bit in the polls. So your No. 8 Men’s Basketball team took on North Carolina at home last night and ground down the Tarheels 65-59, but hey — an ugly win is still a win.

Wait — Florida State is a virtual lock to make the NCAA tournament in ESPN’s first Bubble Watch, and we’re still double-digit days ahead of Valentine’s Day? Has it ever happened this early before? Also, this is awesome:

No worries, Women’s Golf defeated Virginia.

This is insane. That’s it, that’s the tweet:

Alumni:

Mike Norvell had a reaction to Derwin James and Jalen Ramsey’s funny Super Bowl spots:

Derrick Nnadi didn’t just have a good game and win a Super Bowl and then do confetti angels on the field, he also paid for all pet adoptions at the largest no-kill animal shelter in Kansas City:

Then this hero got his celebration on:
