FSU football’s quarterbacks speak ahead of spring battle

Quarterback is the biggest position battle of the spring.

Florida State football opened its first day of spring practice and the media had an opportunity to hear from QBs James Blackman, Tate Rodemaker, and Jordan Travis.

QB James Blackman talked about his role as a leader and what he’s been working on during this offseason. In addition to packing on ten pounds, Blackman is focusing on controlling his emotions and learning the new offense.

Freshman QB Tate Rodemaker from Valdosta, GA talked about his first practice as a college football player and how the speed his high school football team practiced at has helped him adjust to the uptempo offense Florida State runs. Just like Blackman, Rodemaker has gained nine pounds and spoke about how its translating on to the field and in his throws.
