Recruiting:
Our Josh Pick has recruiting interviews from the gridiron to the hardwood. He caught up with blue-chip FSU hoops commit Bryce McGowens’ father to talk his son’s recruitment process.
FSU Hoops is making a late push for 5-star forward Harrison Ingram, the 17th ranked prospect in the 2021 class.
FSU Football was also active on the trail as coach Dillingham offered 2022 4-star DE Anthony Lucas, one of the top players in Arizona.
The ’Noles also offered another out-of-state pass rusher in 4-star Kobie Mckinzie out of Lubbock, Texas.
FSU’s third offer of the day went out to Andre Green, Jr. a 2022 receiver hailing from Virginia.
You can stay up to date with all things recruiting in Tomahawk Nation’s recruiting thread.
Football:
Cam Akers’ NFL dreams will be realized this weekend, but before the NFL and before FSU, Akers was just a hard working kid from Mississippi:
It felt like a good week to pull this feature out from the archives.

I moved to Mississippi the same spring @thereal_cam3 was getting ready to leave for #FSU. Before he did, we shot one of my favorite stories to date! Akers was the @clarionledger #MAOTY. Here’s that video: pic.twitter.com/YC7Vj9jqfE
By the looks of this Independence Bowl graphic, they’re already expecting Miami to make an appearance(s) in Shreveport over the next few years:

Good news, everything is falling apart at Clemson as 247Sports’ top 2021 prospect Korey Foreman de-committed (Clemson’s first de-commitment since 2016.)

It seems Coach Atkins isn’t taking his loss in NCAA 14 too hard as he was back talking shop with a group of high school coaches yesterday:
APS coaches would like to thank @CoachAAtkins for talking OL play today great stuff. @JFive81 @coachgsullivan @artink67 @1APS_Athletics #DayByDay #APS

Cast your votes on which team from the AFC and NFC had the best draft hauls in our Tomahawk Nation Writers’ three-round mock draft.
Other Sports:
FSU basketball comes in way-too-low in this way-too-early top-25, somehow behind a Florida team they’ve beaten each of the last six years.
Alumni:
ESPN did a nice profile on the first round selection of the man, the myth, the legend: Sebastian Janikowski.
The Carolina Panthers profiled the NFL Draft journey of another first-rounder out of Florida State:

Derwin James is set for a major comeback next season, and he’s going to look damn good doing it:

With OTAs going virtual, Demarcus Walker is making sure he is still putting in work as he tries to take the next step in his NFL career:

However, it didn’t stop Walker from giving back to the community as he played trivia with patients at Children’s Hospital Colorado:
Giving back is so important and I’m always grateful that @livinglegend_44 let’s me be a part of it with him tonight we played trivia with some of the amazing kids at @ChildrensColo and everyone had so much fun! @BroncosOffField #BroncosCountry pic.twitter.com/rp5yVAbfAQ

’Noles have an impressive track record producing NFL linebackers:
National Champions, Super Bowl Champions, All-Americans, a Walter Payton Man of the Year and a Hall of Famer are all part of our #NFLDraft history at LB. #NoleFamily pic.twitter.com/pRJ1XJZR0C
