Florida State Seminoles RB Cam Akers drafted by Los Angeles Rams

On Friday, Florida State Seminoles running back Cam Akers was drafted 52nd overall by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2nd Round of the 2020 NFL Draft:

Akers is a fan-favorite of Seminoles, having run with heart and grit behind poor offensive lines for three seasons. For all his efforts, he’ll likely go down as one of the ten best running backs in Florida State history, amassing more than 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns.

The Clinton, MS native displayed amazing power, burst, and balance throughout his FSU career, traits which should serve him well at the next level. The main thing Akers needs to improve is his pass blocking, but if he can he will have all the makings of a bell-cow running back.

Akers (5’10 217lbs.) made the right choice to leave school early for the NFL to maximize his earnings. He will join fellow FSU alumnus Jalen Ramsey on Los Angeles’ roster:
