FSU running back Cam Akers was taken with the 52nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams recently let go of Todd Gurley and Akers looks like the apparent replacement. If it wasn’t for some questions about his pass blocking, the former 5-star could’ve gone even higher in the draft with his elite burst and balance in the backfield.

‘Nole nation burst onto social media to react to the pick. Fans, former coaches, and players all showed love for #3. For all the reactions, see below:

Former head coach Willie Taggart showed love to the player that carried his team for the majority of two years, even calling him the best back in the draft.

Current WR’s coach and former FSU draft pick Ron Dugans was fired up for the RB.

New head coach Mike Norvell and strength coach Josh Storms think Akers and former Darrell Henderson will make one of the best backfields in the league.

Many of FSU’s new defensive coaches congratulated Akers.

Jalen Ramsey is ready to see a fellow Seminole in the backfield with his Rams.

Another LA DB and former ‘Nole Derwin James was pumped up for his former teammate.

Jacques Patrick, who just signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, was hyped up for his former running mate.

EJ Manuel loves the picks for the Rams.

Two of FSU’s defensive starters, Marvin Wilson and Amari Gainer, are ready to change their fandoms for their former teammate.

Keyshawn Helton and Jaleel McRae are both ready to buy some jerseys with Akers on the nameplate.

Two freshmen that paved the way to a big year for Akers, Dontae Lucas and Darius Washington, were pumped up for the junior leader.
