FSU’s defensive leader Marvin Wilson spoke to the media today and quickly put to rest any worry that he’ll be opting out of the 2020 season. After opting not to declare for the 2020 NFL draft, Wilson didn’t think it would make sense to opt out of his senior season, saying, “I didn’t come back to school just to opt out. I’ve put too much into this program to opt out.”

Wilson didn’t just come back to Tallahassee to work on his football career, but also his career outside of football. He spoke on his efforts in the community to spread awareness of social injustices. He’s also focused on building his foundation, despite the tough times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Wilson said, “For me personally, I have work here to do in Tallahassee and I’m going to get that done.”

The rising senior has been one of the best defensive tackles in the country in his time at FSU, and thinks he can be even better in Adam Fuller’s defensive scheme. Wilson talked about the versatility and athleticism that he can display while fulfilling multiple roles along the defensive line.
