Florida State Seminoles football head coach Mike Norvell met with the media on Saturday following FSU’s second day of fall practice, taking the time to provide updates through camp.
Norvell said that the team emphasized special teams today, rotating players in and out to find their best position. He also took time to recognize the offensive line for their efforts in improving, as well as confirmed that Florida State will be in pads starting tomorrow.
Here are some highlights, and see the full interview below:
On the tight end position:
“I think Camren Mcdonald is putting himself in position to take the next step in his career.”
“Really excited about what I’ve seen from [Jordan Wilson]. He’s a large human being who runs well.”
On the offensive line:
“You saw flashes of their ability. The thing we’ve been looking for is continued development and consistency.”
“It’s going to be a good group for us.”
“Thomas Shrader has been one of the more impressive freshman that I’ve had come in at that position.”
On the drama around the college football season:
“We gotta control the things that we can control.”
.@Coach_Norvell: “We tell our guys all the time — knowledge is your greatest talent.”
