Florida State football, recruiting news: FSU self evaluates as Miami looms

Plus, two FSU receivers hit the transfer portal.

Football:

Coaches and players, including head coach Mike Norvell, spoke to the media today following Florida State Seminoles Football’s first practice back after their loss to Georgia Tech.

Wide receiver D.J. Matthews, who has been absent from FSU practices, has opted out of the 2020 season and entered the transfer portal.

Not long after, the ’Noles would go down another reciever as Isaiah Bolden, who recently switched over from the defensive side of the ball, entered the transfer portal.

On this day 30 years ago, FSU joined the ACC. As we all know, the Seminoles are held in the highest regard by the conference they put on the map:

In case you missed it, Marvin Wilson and Asante Samuel Jr. both earned ACC player of the week honors for their individual performances against GT.

ASJ also got some love from PFF, making their team of the week, and being called one of the best corners in college football.

Other Sports:

A couple of Leonard Hamilton’s 2021 recruits received a well-deserved bump in the recruiting rankings.

Currently the no. 1 class in the country, Hamilton’s recruiting efforts are likely to continue to pay dividends in the form of big wins like this one:
