Florida State Seminoles football redshirt sophomore defensive end Jamarcus Chatman has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.
A former composite three-star and the 35th-rated defensive tackle in the country out of Rome, GA, Chatman enrolled at FSU with the 2018 class. Chatman redshirted his freshman season. Last season Chatman appeared in four games but did not record any tackles.
Chatman opted out of the 2020 season back on August 7th. This is the statement Chatman released at the time:
The reason I chose to opt out is because this is a serious deal that’s going on in the world today. A close friend of my family is in the hospital suffering from COVID-19 and that hit too close to home. My family and I decided that to be safe I should opt out this season.
Chatman originally chose the ’Noles over offers from Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and Miami.
Wide receivers Isaiah Bolden and DJ Matthews both entered the transfer portal in the last week, as well.
