According to several reports, Florida State fans or redshirt senior offensive lineman Jay Williams has entered the transfer portal.

This marks the fourth FSU player to enter the transfer portal in the past two weeks, joining defensive lineman Jamarcus Chatman, senior receiver D.J. Matthews, and junior defensive back Isaiah Bolden.

The Moreno Valley, Cal. product is a former JUCO recruit from the 2019 recruiting class under former Seminoles head coach Willie Taggart.

When he committed in December 2018 as part of the NCAA’s early signing period, Williams originally pledged to offensive line coach Greg Frey. Williams never got the chance to play for Frey, instead seeing action under former offensive line coach Randy Clements.

After a carousel of position coaches, Williams has opted to leave the program. The 6-6’, 315-pound tackle did not receive a snap two weeks ago against Georgia Tech.

Already hampered without current head coach Mike Norvell, Florida State takes on #12 Miami at 7:30 Saturday night in front of a primetime audience on ABC.
