The undefeated and 5th ranked Florida State Seminoles are in Gainesville to close out their regular season schedule against the Florida Gators tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

The Seminoles, who were dropped to fifth place in the latest College Football Playoff rankings despite taking care of business and being undefeated, have already finished their ACC season and clinched a spot in the 2023 ACC Football Championship for the sixth time, and the first since 2014.

The Gators, under 2nd year head coach Billy Napier, are looking to salvage the little they can of their 2023 season by achieving a .500 season record, avoiding a second straight season with a losing record, and becoming bowl eligible with a win tonight against the Seminoles.

Neither team will be playing the quarterback that started their season and brought their respective team to this point of the season.

FSU’s Jordan Travis suffered a season ending leg injury last week against North Alabama, paving the way for Tate Rodemaker to get the 2nd start of his career for FSU.

Florida’s Max Brown will make his first career start against FSU tonight. Brown replaced starter Graham Mertz who suffered a broken collarbone in the third quarter of UF’s loss at Missouri last week ending his 2023 season. Brown completed 4-for-5 for 56 yards and rushed 7 times for 42 yards against the Tigers. In the 5 games Brown has appeared in this season, he has completed 10-of-12 passes for 106 yards mostly in mop up duty.

Regardless of the outcome of this game, Florida State will play at least 2 more games this season, in the ACC Championship game, and a bowl game. The Florida Gators 2023 season will end tonight, unless they can defeat Florida State.

According to DraftKings, the Seminoles are a 6.5-point favorite against the Gators, with the over/under set at 49.
