Florida State players speak after win over UNC

‘Noles show fight, finish in upset win.

The Florida State Seminoles fought to the very last second en route to an upset win over No. 5 North Carolina Saturday night. The players showed the most fight and finish they had in years. It wasn’t the prettiest win, but they found a way to win. The players showed “finish and response” to Mike Norvell. Here’s what the players had to say after the win.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Jordan Travis:

“We’ve got another great opponent coming up, so we just need to get back to work.”

“The defense played amazing tonight. They are the reason we won tonight. Their energy they brought, they just made everyone else go.”

“It was the greatest feeling I have ever felt in my life seeing the defense come through like that.”

Senior offensive lineman Devontay Love-Taylor:

“This is just the first step. I think we are going to continue to improve.”

“The fact that we can switch backs and get the quarterback involved, that’s an amazing thing to have.”

“All the work we put in, we felt like it paid off tonight. But we have to continue to put the work in.”

Senior defensive end Joshua Kaindoh

“On the pick six, I kept getting cut on that play earlier in the game. I knew it was coming when I saw the alignment like that. Instead of trying to rush, I just covered the back. I caught it, and I just ran.”

“This time, we showed our potential. We knew after Notre Dame, we were like okay, we’re scratching the surface of something.”

Kaindoh said the addition of defensive lineman Dennis Briggs, Jr. “was like some free agency stuff.”
