Defensive back Cyrus Fagan is no longer with the Florida State Seminoles’ football team, having been removed from the roster Monday morning. He’ll be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer, he confirmed on Wednesday.

Fagan is a senior this season and played as recently as Florida State’s win over Jacksonville State, so this news comes as a bit of a surprise. However, Fagan was buried on the depth chart behind several younger players at safety. After playing a combined 635 snaps the last two seasons, Fagan had only seen the field for 14 snaps this year.
A former composite four-star recruit from Daytona Beach in the 2017 class, Fagan played mostly in a reserve role, but flashed at times, including against the N.C. State Wolfpack last season where he earned ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors.
Fagan has 72 career tackles, including 47 solo, with one interception and four passes defended. Fagan is the 10th commit from the Seminoles’ 2017 recruiting class to transfer and the fourth player to enter the portal this season.
