Florida State Seminoles football head coach Mike Norvell announced that defensive back Meiko Dotson is out for the rest of the 2020 college football season.
“His plan is to 100 percent come back and be part of this football team,” Norvell said. “He’s approached everything the right way, the attitude, the approach, so I hate it for him. You definitely believe he’s a big corner with big play potential.”
Dotson had missed the bulk of 2020 with injuries, only seeing limited action a year after leading the nation in interceptions.
“With me having to wait, I was excited,” the Daytona Beach native said earlier this season on getting to play. “All the work we’ve put in with each other, just to be around the guys, I know how hard they’ve worked too so I was just happy to be with them in any way I could. It was just helping uplift some of the younger guys and just being excited for the team.”
