Florida State defensive back Asante Samuel Jr. has declared for the 2021 NFL draft. He has also likely opted out for the remainder of the 2020 season. The play-making junior started all 8 games at cornerback for FSU this season.

During his Florida State career, Samuel grabbed 4 interceptions, started 32 games, and had 95 total tackles. In the 2020 season opener, Samuel had 2 interception versus Georgia Tech. As a consensus four-star recruit, Samuel signed with FSU as part of the 2018 recruiting class from St. Thomas Aquinas.

“These last three years at Florida State has had it’s ups and downs, but I will forever cherish the memories and relationships that I have created while I was here. When I committed to Florida State, I didn’t realize how much I would grow as a football player, and better yet, as a person,” said Samuel.

“I will forever bleed garnet and gold.”
