FSU’s season ends with ban—- nope whimper.

Florida State Seminoles Football is getting the full 2020 experience. The ‘Noles saw postponements for games scheduled against their ACC foes - Clemson Tigers (I believe Dabo Swinney is still complaining about this to absolutely no one listening), Virginia Cavaliers (Bronco Mendenhall was more reasonable), and saw the Duke game rescheduled. David Cutcliffe still remained grumpy.

Unfortunately, another cancellation is happening to FSU football.

The ACC has announced Florida State’s season finale at Wake Forrest has been cancelled: “The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that tomorrow’s Florida State at Wake Forest football game has been canceled. Earlier today, Florida State informed the conference office of a positive test, subsequent quarantining, and contact tracing resulting in Florida State having an insufficient number of available offensive linemen as outlined in the ACC Medical Advisory Group’s COVID-19 game discontinuation considerations.”

Wake Forest is 4-4 on the season and was a favorite over the Seminoles.

Florida State is unlikely to be able to find an opponent for another game in 2020 on such short notice. As ESPN’s Hale notes, they appear poised to decline a bowl invitation if one were presented.

Unfortunately, it appears FSU football is done for 2020. Or fortunately, depending on your outlook.
