Punter Tommy Martin enters transfer portal

The former starter heads to the portal

Florida State Seminoles punter Tommy Martin has entered the transfer portal, according to Rivals’ transfer portal tracker.

Replacing Logan Tyler in 2019 as FSU’s starting punter, Martin logged three punts in 2020, subbing in for new starter Alex Mastromanno.

2019: Handled FSU’s punting duties for 12 games…ACC Honor Roll…averaged 39.2 yards per punt, punting 70 times for 2,746 yards with 21 punts inside the 20-yard line and only one touchback…forced 34 fair catches and had seven punts of at least 50 yards…ranked second in ACC in total fair catches forced and with 48.6 percent of his punts resulting in fair catches…made FSU debut in 45-44 win vs. ULM and averaged season-high 42.8 yards on five punts…boomed career-long 59-yard punt as part of 42.3 average on six punts at No. 25 Virginia…averaged 42.0 yards on four punts in 35-24 victory vs. Louisville…punted seven times for 40.0 average in 31-13 win vs. North Carolina State…punted career-high nine times and forced career-best seven fair catches at No. 2 Clemson…averaged 41.5 yards on six punts at Wake Forest…punted five times in 35-17 win vs. Syracuse…had eight punts vs. Miami…punted four times in 38-31 victory at Boston College and in 49-12 win vs. Alabama State…averaged 43.8 yards on six punts with three 50-yard kicks and five fair catches at No. 8 Florida…had long of 57 yards and dropped four of six punts inside 20-yard line in Sun Bowl vs. Arizona State…also served as FSU’s holder, helping Ricky Aguayo finish perfect 41-of-41 on PAT attempts and connect on seven field goals, including career-long-tying 53-yarder at Virginia.
