FSU opens as big favorite over UMass

NCAA Football: Florida State at North Carolina James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State Seminoles football, following a bye week, is set to take on the University of Massachusetts this Saturday.

Coached by former FSU football offensive coordinator Walt Bell, the Minutemen have been one of the worst FBS programs in 2021, notching their first victory of the season over winless UConn two weeks ago. UMass, an independent football program, failed to win a game in a four-game season in 2020 and went 1-11 in 2019. They’ve scored more than 28 points just twice in that time span.

Their status as perennial cellar-dwellers combined with FSU’s two-game win streak has the Seminoles favored by a big amount in the upcoming matchup.

According to DraftKings, Florida State is a 37-point favorite over UMass, with an over/under of 61.5.

The Seminoles and Minutemen will face off this Saturday in Tallahassee, with the game set to kickoff at 12 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN.
