“This is my first game-winner for sure.”

The Florida State Seminoles can have their Saturday night this weekend in Tallahassee to celebrate the first win of the season against the Syracuse Orange. Quarterback Jordan Travis, kicker Ryan Fitzgerald, linebacker Kalen DeLoach, and defensive linemen Keir Thomas and Jermaine Johnson sat down to discuss the 33-30 victory.

Jordan Travis

On last drive magic: “They were not designed, the hole opened up and the receivers made big blocks downfield. I appreciate them I love them [the team] I'm just so happy right now.”

On his big 33-yard run down the sidelines: “Keyshawn [Helton] made a big block that allowed me to make a play.”

Ryan Fitzgerald and Kalen DeLoach

Fitzgerald on mindset going into game-winning kick: “After halftime, I was already preparing in my mind. I was mentally prepared and just trust my ability to kick.”

DeLoach on goal line stand: “I feel like we came together we wanted to play all four quarters of football and not just one half.”

Keir Thomas and Jermaine Johnson

Johnson: “I’ve been saying that all we had to do was play a 60-minute game. I still don’t think we did that tonight but we did enough.”

Thomas on Jordan Travis: “That kid is one of the strongest guys mentally on the team. We hear the noise he has to face.”

Thomas: “We have a lot more to show y’all, we’re not done yet.”
