Florida State football began preparations for the Clemson Tigers with practice this morning. The Seminoles practiced with loud crowd noise ringing through the indoor practice facility for a large part of practice. After practice, head coach Mike Norvell spoke to the media to discuss preparations for the Death Valley atmosphere and the development of his quarterbacks. Here’s some of what he had to say:
“Thought today was a good day. I liked the competitiveness at practice. First day of installation, had a few mistakes we’re going to have to clean up. All in all, I thought the guys came out with good purpose.”
“Jordan (Travis) had a lot of confidence in what he was going to do. There were some challenges there in the early part of the season that he faced, but he continued to work. Usually when you have that work ethic and that desire and you get to experience some success, you get to see rapid steps. I think Jordan is definitely doing an extraordinary job in what he’s doing and how he’s building throughout this year.”
“I think Jordan sees the field as good as probably any quarterback I’ve had, and that’s saying a lot.”
“We’ve been working to prepare for those type of environments since I’ve got here. We’re trying to make things as miserable to communicate and as irritating to operate as we can.”
“We’re expecting a very loud and disruptive atmosphere that we’re going to go play in. Things that we can control is our focus and making sure that we’re communicating the best way we possibly can.”
