Jordan Travis sets Florida State school record

Another record for the Florida State gunslinger

NCAA Football: Syracuse at Florida State Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

For the second straight year, Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis has broken a record previously held by Charlie Ward.

After setting the single-season rushing record in 2020 with 569 yards (eclipsing Ward’s 504), Travis now holds the title of FSU’s leading career rusher at quarterback with 932 yards on the ground. He also holds another record — seven straight games with a rushing touchdown, ranging from October 2020 to September 2021.

“I have a great supporting cast,” Travis said after Saturday’s win vs. Syracuse. “My family keeps me going every single day and keeps me positive. My team keeps me positive, always staying on me and just pushing me to go out there every single day.”

Travis is currently the team’s active leading scoring rusher, with 11 touchdowns scored on the ground. He’s five away from being tied for 20th overall with William McCray and William Floyd. He’s the only quarterback in FSU history to have four straight games with at least one rushing and one passing touchdown, while also owning the two longest runs by a quarterback in school history.
