Florida State Seminoles football had its chances against the Clemson Tigers on the road Saturday, but failed to take advantage of several opportunities as they saw self-inflicted mistakes stall out the occasional spurt of success.
While FSU kept it close vs. Clemson all game, an accomplishment even in a down year for the Tigers, there was a sense of frustration knowing that the Seminoles had the opportunity to leave South Carolina with a win.
“I was really proud of the heart that our guys showed.,” Florida State Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell said after the game. “The way they continue to battle there late — just too many mistakes.”
“We struggled there to consistently establish drives. We had some opportunities but the negative plays, the penalties, being behind the chains...it was too much for us to overcome.”
“I am proud of this football team, but we’ve got to play cleaner, [especially] there at the end. At the end of the day, it’s just really disappointing.”
