Florida State football continued preparations for the North Carolina Tar Heels with their second practice of the week this morning. Mike Norvell wasn’t pleased with the practice as he said there were “ups and downs.” After practice, offensive lineman Darius Washington, running back Treshaun Ward, and defensive back Jammie Robinson each spoke to the media. Here’s some of what each had to say:

Washington: “I’d say we’ve done some good things but we’ve got some things to work on as well, especially protection wise. I think running the ball has been kind’ve something that we can go to and I like that. I like being physical up-front.”

Ward: “The biggest challenges, they like to send a lot of blitzes to our side. So as a running back, we’ve got to be open with our eyes and we’ve got to scan the field and make sure we protect our quarterback.”

“It was something that we needed. We needed to know how to win and for that it was really big for us. For the rest of the season, we just know how to win. We just found a way to win and it was very much needed for that.”

Robinson: “It’s just my mentality. I get beat, the next play, I’m right back at it. I’m going to compete.”

“Our pass rush is going to get there so we got to cover down. Us in the back end, we’ve got to make big plays because they definitely take shots.”
