New, comments

We’ll be hearing from Mike Norvell and DC Adam Fuller

Florida State Sports Information

Update 9:30 p.m.

We heard from Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, redshirt senior linebacker Emmett Rice and redshirt freshman defensive back Jarvis Brownlee Jr. today. Norvell had praise for a number of players, and said freshman wide receivers Joshua Burrell and Malik McClain have “continued to impress.”

The second-year head coach said tomorrow will be the first day in pads, and with that will come a better opportunity to evaluate offensive and defensive lineman. As far as this afternoon, he liked what he saw from redshirt freshman offensive lineman Thomas Shrader and Zane Herring.

Next, we heard from Fuller, and he gave a very informative interview in his first press conference appearance of the spring. He broke down the past and present positional alignments of Amari Gainer, Travis Jay, and Jammie Robinson. Fuller also gave an update on Meiko Dotson’s health and the overall state of the defensive line unit.

Later on, Rice and Brownlee shared the podium together for a joint player interview. They both spoke a lot about the differences from the start of spring last year in 2020 and the start to spring so far this season.

Florida State Seminoles football is back out on the practice field for its second day of spring camp.

On Tuesday, FSU returned to the Dunlap Practice Facility for the first time since December, shaking off the rust as it got back to the grind.

“Good first day,” head coach Mike Norvell said Tuesday. “I thought the guys came out and had a lot of energy, started in meetings, guys were very attentive. We want to be very aggressive in how we install, the intensity of the individual reps.”

“This is the first time these guys have had the same staff on offense ever, except for Baveon maybe,” offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham said. “Our conditioning level isn’t even comparable, last year we could barely even finish practice.”

Today, we’ll be hearing from head coach Mike Norvell, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and players made available to the media. You can follow along both in the comment section and on our Twitter, and in the meantime, drop any questions you have in the comments and we’ll try to get to them.
