Florida State football completed their third practice of the week on Wednesday morning. Mike Norvell spoke to the media after practice. Norvell was pleased with the competitive spirit that his team is developing. The head coach said, “We’ve had three pretty good days. The workload has been high. I really like the competitiveness that we’re showing. Just continuing to refine the fundamentals and specifics, that’s what we’re trying to accomplish.”

Norvell gave praise to his young quarterbacks in his opening statement. Over the last couple days, Chubba Purdy and Tate Rodemaker have had more reps and Norvell has liked their response to the opportunity. Norvell said, “Really been trying to get a good look at the two young quarterbacks. I’ve really been pleased with Chubba and Tate these last few days. You look at the scrimmage, Mckenzie and Jordan took about 85% of the snaps, so we wanted to take a few days here this week to let those young guys show their growth from the scrimmage and I think both those guys have taken advantage of that and working with the first group.”

Dennis Briggs was a defensive player that flashed on Wednesday. Briggs has been a consistent performer on the interior of FSU’s defensive line this fall. On Briggs, Norvell said, “He’s had a really good camp. His body’s changed and develop. He’s explosive. I’ve really liked how he’s been able to hold a point using his technique and fundamentals.”
