Florida State football hit the practice field today for a special-teams focused day. Mike Norvell wasn’t scheduled to speak to the media, but was so pleased with his team that he decided to take four questions from the media. The head coach was pleased with his team’s competitive spirit, but he wants them to control and use it in the right ways.

Norvell said, “Our approach to practice, the competitiveness we have, it is different from what we experienced last year. These guys, they want to compete. Competing in control is something we need to continue to emphasize.”

McKenzie Milton had a good day of practice, and Norvell was most excited about the poise and decisions he showed in tough scenarios. He said, “Today, he got in a couple situations in two-minute where you see experience and poise. When bad things were happening around him, he was still able to make highly educated decisions.”
