Florida State football put in another day of work on Thursday morning with their fourth straight day of practice. After practice, offensive lineman Dillan Gibbons and linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. met with the media. Coming from Notre Dame, Gibbons has had a smooth transition into the program in Tallahassee. On the process, Gibbons said, “It’s been a great process. Heat’s a little bit different than South Bend, Indiana, but everything’s been going very smoothly.”
On what he brings to Florida State, Gibbons said, “At Notre Dame, I spent a couple seasons as the sixth offensive lineman. Basically, at any point I could’ve been called upon to play any position. For me, coming in here, I’m trying to bring that into the room, being ready to jump into the game at any position or that experience overall.”
For Gibbons’ whole interview, see below:
Dix Jr. spoke about the developments of the defense since Saturday’s scrimmage. On what they’re working on to improve the most, he said, “I think mostly what we took away from the scrimmage was attention to detail. Making sure we’re communicating on the same page as a defense.”
The linebacker added, “We’re really just accepting his (coach Marve’s) leadership. We know we have to go out there and take control of the defense and really get everybody set. Also making sure that if there’s anything messed up, we have to correct it.”
