Florida State football held their first practice of Notre Dame game week this morning. Mike Norvell said it was a ‘good work day’ with some miscommunications to clean up moving through the rest of the week. Cornerback Jarvis Brownlee, offensive lineman Dillan Gibbons, and defensive tackle Robert Cooper spoke to the media after practice.
Brownlee was named one of two starting cornerback’s for FSU’s opener against the Irish. On the excitement heading into his first game as a contributor in front of a full crowd at Doak Campbell, the defensive back said, “When we walk out there Sunday, it’s going to be all moments man... like wow, it’s going to be amazing. I’m really looking forward to that.”

Gibbons transferred to FSU from Notre Dame this offseason. On facing his former teammates, Gibbons said, “I’ve gone against those guys for thousands of reps. Some of those guys are my best friends in the world and they always will be, but I’m probably going to have to ruin a few friendships. I’m excited to get after it.

Adam Fuller and all of his position coaches are back for a second straight year at Florida State. Fuller has mentioned that the cohesion created between the group is paying off for the defense. On the coaching staff coming back and the cohesion building, Cooper said, “It’s meant a lot. Really understanding what he wants and really understanding the plays, just how we all work together so you get a better understanding of it all. Just makes it more crisp on the field. I actually love it working under him for a second year.”
