Florida State football hit the practice field for the first time this week to begin prep for the upcoming game against Louisville. After practice, Mike Norvell met with the media to review the day’s work and look ahead to the Cardinals. Here’s some of what the head coach had to say:
“Thought we had a good work day today. Continuing to try implement the corrections and trying to put guys in challenging situations to see the response.”
“There was some good and some bad today, but all in all, we got some good work. Was some introduction in a game plan perspective.”
“You look at the drives where we don’t have a penalty or turnover, it’s pretty good production... At the end of the day, we’ve got to go apply it. Right now, it’s just words until we do it.”
“We’re trying to score every time we get the ball. That’s something we’re going to continue to work on. We’ve got to do a better job of coaches of putting guys in position to do that.”
“If Jordan’s not available, then Chubba (Purdy) will definitely be the next guy in. Chubba’s worked really hard. There’s still some freshman moments in practice, but I love the progression I’ve seen. I’m excited for what his future is. He understands that he has to be ready.”
