Mike Norvell speaks after loss to Louisville

“Missed opportunities, we had our chances. Didn’t finish drives. We’ve got to finish.”

Florida State football fell to 0-4 as they came up short in a 31-23 loss to Louisville on Saturday evening. The Seminoles are now 3-10 under head coach Mike Norvell. After the loss to the Cardinals, Norvell spoke to the media after the game on FSU’s comeback attempt. Here’s some of what he had to say:

“We didn’t play well in the first half in any phase. Gave up big plays, had miscommunications, struggled on third down in the first half.”

“Missed opportunities, we had our chances. Didn’t finish drives. We’ve got to finish.”

“The way the guys responded, I expected the entire game that we were going to come back and win.”

“Things we can control is how we show up everyday and the work we’re willing to invest. Team came to work the past week. I thought they practiced hard... the record, it’s where we are and what we’ve earned.”

“We did not start how you need to start football games. That’s a reflection on me. We’ve got to get these guys ready from the beginning.”

“I was pleased with how the guys responded. It’s not shocking to me that they played hard and continued to fight.”

“There were some really good plays and some plays we’d like to have back... I thought all in all, McKenzie did some really good things and gave us opportunities. We’ve got to get all 11 playing as one.”

“I want them to show up for sixty minutes. These guys are capable, no doubt in my mind. We’ve got to continue to push and play to the level these guys can go out and execute. They’ve got to believe in themself and the work they’ve put in.”

We’ll update this article with video of Norvell’s full presser when it becomes avaialble.
